Aatrox, Tryndamere, Samira & Others Receive Massive Buffs in LoL Patch 13.5

Publish date: 2024-07-29

Riot has unveiled that LeBlanc, Kennen, Aatrox, Tryndamere, Rumble, Fizz, Jinx, and Samira are receiving massive buffs in patch 13.5.

Patch 13.4 was one of the most extensive sets of changes in season 13 of League of Legends. While the buffs weren’t game-breaking, the nerfs, on the other hand, were very impactful.

In that patch, Riot nerfed some of the meta champions who were either picked or banned since preseason 2023. These meta champions who got nerfed are Maokai, Udyr, Elise, Amumu, etc. Riot tried to nerf ADC support by nerfing Spectral Sickle, but they are still uncommon in the solo queue. However, melee and defensive support times like Relic Shield and Steel Shoulderguards were buffed.

Patch 13.5 will be the last ranked-focused update. Additionally, since MSI 2023 is just around the corner, patch 13.6 will be a professional scene-focused patch. Moreover, the current patch will be made to give more significant changes to the champions.

Lead Designer at the Summoner’s Rift team, Riot Phroxzon, recently revealed on Twitter all the upcoming changes of patch 13.5. He announced that LeBlanc, Kennen, Aatrox, Tryndamere, Rumble, Fizz, Jinx, and Samira would receive significant buffs in the upcoming patch 13.5.

Patch 13.5 Buffs

LeBlanc Buffs

A while ago, in patch 13.3, LeBlanc received her first buff in over a year. While the buff increased her pick rate for a bit, it returned to normal immediately. So in the upcoming patch, Riot will buff her Q and R by giving them bonus damage against minions. It is overall excellent quality of life change.

Kennen Buffs

Kennen was supposed to receive a buff in patch 13.4. But due to unknown reasons, his buffs were postponed. However, even in that situation, Kennen remained one of the game’s worst champions. But since Kennen received a new skin very recently, Astronaut Kennen, it is a no-brainer that he would receive a buff alongside.

Aatrox Buffs

It hasn’t been that long since Aatrox was dominating in the meta. Since late season 12, Aatrox has been one of the prominent picks in the game. However, since then, he has been receiving nerfs after nerfs. But the recent nerfs to grievous wounds made Aatrox unviable.

Currently, he has a 48.54% win rate and a 5.1% pick rate on ranked. It is far lower than previous patches. And that’s why he might receive a slight buff in the upcoming patch.

Tryndamere Buffs

Tryndamere is one of the champions who received no significant changes recently. His last changes were closely related to the durability patch. However, in the current patch, he is losing against most matchups, even against the weakest champions.

He currently has a 48.66% win rate on ranked. Moreover, his pick rate is also a low 2.2%. He probably might receive some buffs for his ability to split-push.

Rumble Buffs

Rumble is also one of the champions who hasn’t received an update in a year. His last update was the durability patch. Moreover, before that, he received a slight buff to his armor in patch 12.4. However, Rumble is a very unpopular champion. The main reason for that is his unique heat resource instead of mana.

Although he has a 49.22% win rate, his pick rate is a low 1.4%. To give him a spotlight, Riot will be giving him some buffs in the upcoming patch 13.5.

Fizz Buffs

Fizz is one of the most volatile champions. He is either solid in norms, or he is frail in rank. Because of his level 6 power spike, he is very reliable early game. But in the late game, he falls off very fast.

However, Riot buffed his AP ratio in patch 12.19, but it wasn’t enough to make him a viable pick in higher elo. Moreover, he also received a new skin recently, Astronaut Fizz. So it was expected that he would receive a buff relatively soon.

Samira Buffs

In previous patches, Samira was one of the strongest ADCs in the game. One of the main reasons was the easy snowball potential with the treasure hunter rune and her high scaling. Because of it, Riot nerfed her and the treasure hunter in patch 13.4. Because of this, she became one of the weakest ADC in the current patch. Her win rate is only 48.91%, though her pick rate is a respectable 8.8%. We can expect Riot to do a slight buff in the upcoming patch, 13.5.

Jinx Buffs

Jinx will be receiving some significant updates in this upcoming patch. First of all, her Attack Speed is receiving a buff per level. Moreover, her W is receiving a nice quality of life update. Now Jinx’s W’s slow lasts much longer than before. But the most impactful update for her is the monster execution damage increase. Now it deals the same amount of damage as a fully upgraded smite.

Qiyana Buffs

Qiyana has fallen off the meta quite a bit recently. That is why Riot will be buffing her Q and E in the upcoming patch. Her Q will receive a damage increase. Additionally, her E’s cooldown has been reduced.

Release Date

These buffs will hit live servers on patch 13.5, scheduled to release on Wednesday, March 8, 2023.
