Elvis Presley Enterprises And Live Nation To Increase Graceland Musical Events
MEMPHIS, Tenn. (CelebrityAccess) Elvis Presley Enterprises and Live Nation have confirmed they will increase bookings at the 2,000-capacity Graceland Soundstage, located on the Elvis Presley complex, and the 464-capacity theater inside the Guest House at Graceland Hotel.
Live Nation and EPE expect to hold between 50-75 concerts at the venues next year, with the number to increase in 2020, according to the Memphis Commercial-Appeal.
“Graceland is already the most famous music destination in the world,” Joel Weinshanker, managing partner of Graceland Holdings, told the paper. “And we want to make it one of the most famous destinations to see live music as well.
Ben Weeden, COO of Live Naiton Clubs and Theatres, said the company was proud to be working with Graceland, “one of the singular iconic and transformational music brands on earth. We’re anticipating a creative partnership that will play a role in honoring such a historic artist and the place he called home.”
The Soundstage and Theater have traditionally held Elvis-themed performances and Live Nation is reportedly prepared to vastly increase the scope of the entertainment.
“We get 600,000 people traveling annually to Graceland. They’re coming to experience the history of pop culture and rock and roll. We want to enhance that experience by giving them the opportunity to see as many concerts and special events as possible,” Weinshanker told the paper. “We have the people here already, so it makes sense to build in even more entertainment options for them.”
He said an announcement of the 2019 schedule, which will have legacy acts, newcomers and special events, will be coming in the next weeks.
