Gabriel Eduardo Gabe Saporta developed a passion for music at a very tender age. He fell in love with music because of its ability to convey messages and unite people. He is better known as an American musician and entrepreneur.
Saporta has featured on several songs since he made his debut at the age of 16 when he joined his first band called “Humble Beginnings” as a bass player. He was first interested in hip hop before he later discovered punk rock. He is a successful businessman who is focused on helping other musicians through his new venture, The Artist Group.

Who is Gabe Saporta?
Saporta was born on October 11, 1979, in Montevideo, Uruguay to his Jewish parents Jeanette and Diego. His father settled in Uruguay after Saporta’s great grandparents and grandparents died in the mountains of Yugoslavia during World War II. Saporta and his family stayed in Uruguay until he was four years old.
According to him, a dictator came into power and made it difficult for his father to practice medicine as a physician so they relocated to New York City where his father had to attend medical school all over again. Together with his parents and his two-year-old brother, they settled in a one-room bedroom apartment in flushing, queens.
They lived as unauthorized immigrants on expired tourist visas for four years before they were granted a permanent resident permit.
He got married to Erin Fetherston in May 2013 and in March 2016, they welcomed their first son.
Later Life and His Musical Career
By the time he was 12, his father had finished med school and the family moved to the affluent suburb of Springfield, N.J. It was also at this time that Saporta became interested in music and he was always going for punk and hardcore shows like Gorilla Biscuits, Fugazi, and Pavement before he joined his first band.
He attracted a lot of kids when he began to play and organize shows in New Jersey. Saporta and his brother Ricky started his own shows and later put out his own records.
In 1998, he co-founded his next band, Midtown while he was at Rutgers University. He was the lead singer, bassist, and lyricist for the pop-punk band. This attracted fame and attention quickly for Saporta. When Midtown had legal troubles, he decided to explore the music business and started managing Armor For Sleep. The band became quite successful which made him merge his company into Crush management. The latter went on to launch Cobra Starship with Saporta.
Saporta wanted to start another project after midtown was disbanded. The project was supposed to be light-hearted and the music would incorporate diverse electronic influences. Cobra Starship became a full band in 2007 and started touring the country with acts as diverse as 30 Seconds to Mars, Fall Out Boy, and Travie McCoy. They also performed electronic acts Girl Talk and Kaskade. The band released four full-length albums from 2006-2014. Cobra starship was the main support for Justin Bieber on his South American stadium tour in 2012.
In November 2015, Saporta announced on his beats1 radio show that he would no longer be performing or releasing new music as the band was splitting after four albums. Saporta and Mike Carden his business associate announced the formation of a talent management firm which was to start operations in the first quarter of 2016.
