RANDOLPH, UT - A 4.9 magnitude earthquake hits Northern Utah and it was felt right here in Eastern Idaho. It hit at 5:59 p.m., centered just five miles northeast of Randolph, Utah. The University of Utah Seismology Department is classifying this as a "moderate" earthquake.

The U.S. Geological Survey logged more than 14-hundred responses from people who said they felt it. Calls came into the Eyewitness News newsroom right after the quake hit. It was felt by people from Provo and Salt Lake City, Utah to Preston, Montpelier, and Pocatello, Idaho, even Jackson Hole, Wyoming. The quake even registered on recorders as far away as the Teton Pass, Wyoming.

"I had actually just sat down on the Internet to look something up, and when I sat down, I felt the whole room kind of shake. My monitor starting shaking, the light started shaking in front of me," says Jesse DeLong of Preston.

There were some reports of minor damage at Rich High School and other businesses around Randolph. However, no reports of any injury.
