Meridian man faces multiple felony charges after armed robbery and police standoff

A Meridian man has been arrested for robbery, grand theft, unlawful possession of a firearm, and resisting and eluding officers.

Nampa Police say that just after 11 a.m. they responded to a report of an armed robbery at a residence in the 400 block of North Summerwind Drive.

Police say the victim and the suspect, identified as 33-year-old Jordan Lee Davis of Meridian, knew each other.

The victim told police that Davis had been at the residence at 4 a.m. when he sprayed the victim with pepper spray and stole some clothing. The victim then told police that Davis returned later with a gun and stole the victim's wallet and keys as well as his vehicle.

Nampa Police dispatched additional officers to search for the stolen vehicle and located it heading eastbound on I-84 between Franklin Road and Northside Boulevard.

Officers attempted to stop Davis who failed to yield and exited I-84 at the Garrity offramp where officers performed a pit maneuver causing Davis to lose control before coming to a stop.

Police boxed Davis in but he refused to exit the vehicle while holding a gun, Davis refused to listen to police and remained in the vehicle for nearly 20 minutes before police deployed oleoresin capsicum gas into the vehicle.

Davis was arrested and taken to the Nampa Police Department where he told officers that he had taken narcotics while in the vehicle.

EMS took Davis to the hospital, he will be charged with felony robbery, felony grand theft, felony unlawful possession of a firearm, misdemeanor resist and obstruct, and felony eluding when he is released from the hospital.
