Ronnie Aaron Killings, often known as R-Truth, is an American professional wrestler and rapper who was born on January 19, 1972. Currently, he is signed to WWE and performs on the Raw brand.

From 1998 through 2002, Killings competed as K-Kwik for the World Wrestling Federation (WWF, now WWE), creating a tandem with “Road Dogg” Jesse James and winning the WWF Hardcore Championship twice. He joined Jeff Jarrett’s new organization Total Nonstop Action Wrestling after his release in 2002. (TNA). He won the NWA Global Heavyweight Championship twice (the first African-American titleholder) and was the first African-American world champion in TNA history as Ron “The Truth” Killings.

With BG James (previously Road Dogg) and Konnan, he created 3 Live Kru, which won the NWA World Tag Team Championship twice. Before departing TNA in late 2007, Killings formed Team Pacman with football athlete Adam Jones and won the TNA World Tag Team Championship.

In 2008, Killings was rebranded as R-Truth and went on to win the WWE United States Championship and the WWE Tag Team Championship (with Kofi Kingston) during the next several years.

He was mostly employed in comic roles and fought on the undercard until 2018 when he won the second edition of Mixed Match Challenge alongside Carmella. In 2019, he won the United States Championship for the second time. He went on to win the newly established WWE 24/7 Championship later that year, and he now holds the record for the 24/7 championship with the most reigns with 53.

R-Truth in WWE

R-Truth first signed with WWE in 2000 then he left WWE to work for TNA and then returned in 2008. He came back as R-Truth and joined the SmackDown roster. Truth started rapping as soon as he walked in, and he was employed in multiple tag team matches. He became a member of Team SmackDown in 2009 and won the Bragging Rights match. He established a tag team with John Morrison in 2010. They were beaten by Show-Miz at WrestleMania XXVI.

He won the United States Championship by defeating The Miz in May. In two weeks, he lost the championship to The Miz again. He teamed up with Team WWE to defeat Team Nexus at SummerSlam. Truth turned villain in 2011 and began a rivalry with John Cena. He battled John Cena for the WWE Championship at Capitol Punishment and lost.

R-Truth resumed his fight with The Miz in January. Truth entered the Elimination Chamber but was unable to win. Truth and Kofi Kingston created a tag team in February. They fought for Team Teddy at WrestleMania XXVIII, but they were defeated. Truth and Kingston won the WWE Tag Team Championship in April after defeating Primo and Epico.

R-Truth took on a new role in 2015, one who had amnesia and was exploited for humorous purposes. Truth was selected for SmackDown in 2018. He and Carmella worked together on a plot and created a collaboration. Carmella and Truth won the mixed match challenge, putting them both in the Royal Rumble’s top 30. Truth beat Shinsuke Nakamura to win his second United States Championship after Rumble, although he lost the championship to Samoa Joe afterwards. Currently, he is on move for the 24/7 championship.

Truth dropped out of high school at the age of 18 and continued to sell narcotics to support himself. Before serving a 13-month sentence, Truth was arrested four times and spent various amounts of time in prison.
