Randy Orton admits former WWE Universal Champion is his friend after saving him from BOOTLE

Randy Orton and Kevin Owens have bonded together in their fight against The Bloodline. Although the duo has fought each other in the past, most recently at WrestleMania XL, they continue to stick together in their fight against Solo Sikoa and his evil faction. 

After their segment on SmackDown, the former World Champions gave a backstage interview with Cathy Kelley. The interviewer asked Owens that although he may not have had the result he was hoping for, he must have been pleasantly surprised after his friend Randy Orton came out to make the save.

The former Universal Champion looked over towards The Viper and asked if they were friends. The 44-year-old joked that they were still getting there. Owens laughed and clapped in excitement. The Apex Predator thought that he should fly over to Scotland to save his friend, acquaintance, buddy, or whatever one may call him from the ‘Bootleg’ Bloodline.

Kevin Owens let out a chuckle at this remark. Kelley further mentioned that it was not a short trip to Scotland. Thus, he would only travel so far away for someone that he genuinely cared about. The segment continued with Orton confirming that the two were indeed friends, and they joked about their past anecdotes.

The latest episode of SmackDown featured Kevin Owens taking on Solo Sikoa in a singles match. After a tough fight, the Prizefighter dodged a Samoan Spike and landed a Stunner. However, Paul Heyman saved his faction’s leader by putting his feet on the ropes to break the pinfall.

This allowed the former NXT North American Champion to capitalize and pick up the victory after landing a Spike. After the match, Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa came down to ringside to beat up the Canadian. As the formerly known Geurrilas of Dynasty set him up near the announce table, Orton’s theme song played.

The Legend Killer came out and laid a beatdown on all three members of The Bloodline. He hit a draped DDT on Sikoa and landed an RKO on Tonga Loa. Orton’s T-shirt also reflected his respect for and friendship with the former NXT Champion.
